My name is Sasha, I am a 28 year old women from a small town in Quebec. I moved 4000km away from home 8 years ago and that’s how it all started.
After high school, I joined one of the first college programs that caught my interest. Specialized education. I never really understood why considering how much I actually disliked school. For that reason, it didn’t last. Half way through my first exams, I got up, emptied my locker and left. I knew it wasn’t for me and I wasn’t going to waste any more time with it.
Unfortunately, I didn’t learn my lesson right away. Again, I took the first opportunity I had at a stable job and ended working as an admin. I hated it. Not only did I not get to be myself but being trapped indoors when it was sunny out drove me insane. With issues at work and home with a side of sever anxiety, I found myself trapped in a pattern I needed to break.
For my first vacation during this “career”, I visited my brother out west and did a road trip across British Colombia. For the first time in as long as I could remember, I felt happy. I felt relaxed and stress free.
As soon as I got back home, I quit my job, ended my lease and moved 3 months later. Without a job aligned, I ended up being a labor for my brothers Truss company and that’s how it all started.
Fast forward 8 years later, I’ve now built homes start to finish, worked in 3 provinces, 3 islands and over 15 towns, operated a self-erect tower crane and didn’t have to step foot in a single school to learn any of it. Follow me and find out how I made that possible.
